Who is she?

Meet Ma’Sheka Thomas, the brains behind the blog, www.mashekaamina.com! On her self-titled blog, she provides short nuggets of wisdom, positive anecdotes and thought-provoking questions for readers to ponder.

In 2018, Ma’Sheka released her very first book, Recharging My Soul, to inspire readers to reflect on who they are, attract happiness and to find solace in knowing that life has many twists and turns for everyone – you are not alone.

Last year, Ma’Sheka shifted her focus towards yoga, which has become a true love and passion for her. After earning her YTT-200 in 2018, she has flourished as a yoga teacher – now teaching nearly six classes a week at varying studios. She also offers virtual sessions, which allows clients to meet with her one-on-one without leaving their living rooms.

In the future, she intends to continue developing her blog and bringing yoga and healing to her community through her book(s), her sessions and eventually, yoga therapy, after she completes her second Master’s Degree in Yoga Therapy at University of Maryland of Integrative Health in 2021.

Our work

Ma’sheka and I have worked on projects for the past two years.

When developing her first book in 2018, Ma’Sheka hired me to edit her works. Together, we went through her manuscript with a fine tooth comb to work out grammatical errors and inconsistencies and to work in her personality and a cohesive flow throughout the collection of pieces. When we concluded with final edits, she worked with my team and I to design her book’s cover art. She worked with myself and lead designer, Chanel Choubacha.

In 2019, she wanted to revamp her Squarespace site to include her new love for yoga as she moved into teaching. We developed a microsite within her original blog platform to include an events page, yoga at home vlog, Amina Yoga Blog and her very own scheduling page where her clients can book her for events, private lessons and more and with a clear interactive calendar. Since Ma’Sheka was looking for a refresher, we also developed her online bios and freshened up her SEO and copy throughout her website for alignment and marketing purposes.

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Ma’Sheka. She has a vision of positivity that she can’t wait to share with the world in everything that she does, from writing, to yoga, to participating in other holistic therapeutic modalities. We, The Creative Communicator and team are looking forward to see what she does next and hopes that she will return to let us help her, every step of the way!
